“Tugela” is the name of a river in Natal, South Africa flowing alongside the "Spion Kop" hill. This hole is challenging due to the large and steep hill that begins 257 yards from the back tee and elevates some 27 feet from Butterfield Creek. A well placed tee shot further up the hill allows for a more manageable, blind second shot into this green. The approach shot must be carefully played as the fairway and green fall away from the player. The small mounds around the green, added by Harry Collis, one of the original golf professionals and superintendents at Flossmoor Country Club, create a punch bowl effect. This is a very challenging par four.
